Green Inspired Interior Design
We have always been inspired and fortunate to work with creative clients. It happened on a few of our projects. On West Annie working with Jennifer Braham of brinkcreative.com and with Patrick and Rachel Howell on Stobough whose addition was a delight. In fact most clients become very creative when they custom build their home and as an Austin custom home builder, our intention is to do just that.
I must say, I get surprised every time. I recently met Rachel Howell whose latest interior design project is just inspiring. She and Patrick bought a claw foot tub shell and made a chair out of it. The whole process- was very exploratory and they found out they could not upholster the tub as is, there needed to be a shell to cover it and than upholstery took place.
Spruce upholstery is an Austin favorite upholstery shop. You can find them at spruceaustin.com and they are located on Lamar. After our clients have consulted with them a solution was found, Spruce created the shell and upholstered our client’s claw foot tub. Interior design in Austin is accessible, there are many fabric stores, upholstery shops and furnishings.
The redesigned object or repurposed object is just a great example of green interior design – where furniture is recycled and re-purposed for interior design purposes. As an Austin green builder, that makes us excited as green interior design is a major passion and interest.
